Yard Manager – Pipe Distribution Center (Direct Hire)

Meador, an Openwork Company is currently engaged in a search to find a driven and hands-on Yard Manager in Houston, TX (Fannin / 610 area).

In this leadership-focused and operations-driven role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a pipe distribution yard, ensuring materials move safely, efficiently, and accurately while leading a team that keeps the yard running at peak performance.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has experience in yard operations, distribution, or PVF environments and is ready to take ownership of a critical operation.

In a Yard Manager role, you’ll be responsible for:

• Leading day-to-day operations of the pipeyard and distribution center

• Overseeing all yard activities to ensure efficiency, organization, and safety

• Directing and supporting yard staff while promoting accountability and teamwork

• Managing heavy equipment usage (including forklifts) and ensuring proper maintenance and safe operation

• Coordinating daily loading and unloading activities to support customer and internal demands

• Maintaining accurate inventory levels, receiving incoming materials, and ensuring organized stock flow

• Acting as a liaison between yard operations, logistics, sales, and leadership teams

• Monitoring operational performance and identifying opportunities for process improvement

• Championing safety compliance, including OSHA regulations and internal safety protocols

• Implementing and continuously improving organizational and yard management procedures

What you’ll need:

• 5+ years of experience in distribution, yard operations, or industrial environments

• Prior experience in PVF, pipe, or industrial materials is a strong plus

• Proven leadership experience managing people and daily operations

• Strong understanding of safety standards and quality guidelines (OSHA knowledge preferred)

• Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently while also collaborating cross-functionally

• A results-driven mindset with a positive, professional attitude

• Must live in or near Houston, TX (Fannin / 610 area)
