Openwork is partnering with the Harris County Tax Office – Downtown Location to hire reliable and detail-oriented Window Tellers who are ready to make a meaningful impact in public service.

As a Window Teller at the Downtown Tax Office, you will be the first point of contact for citizens seeking assistance with registrations, titles, licensing, and tax-related services. Your professionalism and accuracy help ensure the public receives clear guidance and efficient support.

Key Responsibilities

• Process vehicle registrations, titles, licenses, and property tax payments

• Handle transactions (cash, card, check) with accuracy and attention to detail

• Verify identification and required documents for compliance and authenticity

• Enter and manage sensitive data in secure state systems

• Maintain precise daily financial and transaction records

• Provide friendly, clear, and professional customer service at the counter

• Participate in training and follow established procedures to ensure consistent quality

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED (U.S.-accredited)

• 6+ months of recent, in-person customer service experience involving cash handling

• Ability to type 30+ WPM

• High attention to detail, strong reliability, and excellent professionalism

• Ability to remain composed and focused in a high-volume downtown environment

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay: $15.00 per hour (weekly pay)

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

  • Occasional Saturdays and limited travel between nearby Harris County buildings may be required
