Structural Steel & Aluminum Fabrication
Openwork is hiring an experienced Welder/Fabricator for a manufacturing operation in Oklahoma City, OK 73179. This position is heavily focused on fabrication, fitting, blueprint reading, and welding structural steel and aluminum from detailed engineering drawings.
Qualified candidates must have at least 5 years of welding and fabrication experience. Candidates whose experience is primarily weld-out work without hands-on fitting and fabrication experience will not meet the requirements for this position.

Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73179
Pay: $23.00–$27.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–3:30 PM
Shift: 1st Shift
Employment Type: Full-Time
Overtime: As needed based on business needs
What You'll Be Doing
- Fit, fabricate, and weld equipment made from structural steel and aluminum
- Read and work from blueprints and detailed engineering drawings
- Measure, fit, position, and prepare components for fabrication and welding
- Perform welding according to established procedures and specifications
- Work with GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding processes
- Inspect fit-up and completed welds for accuracy and quality
- Follow production requirements, welding procedures, and safety standards
- Work independently and with the fabrication team to complete assigned projects
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Minimum 5 years of welding and fabrication experience
- Strong hands-on fitting and fabrication experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and detailed engineering drawings
- Knowledge and experience with GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding procedures
- Experience fabricating and welding structural steel and aluminum
- Ability to accurately measure, fit, and prepare components before welding
- Must be able to communicate and understand English
- Certified welder is a plus
- Strong attention to quality, accuracy, and workplace safety
- Must successfully complete a weld test after passing the interview process
Important Experience Requirement
This position is fabrication-heavy and requires more than production weld-out experience. Candidates should have hands-on experience taking materials from blueprints and engineering drawings through fitting, fabrication, and final welding.
