Openwork is currently assisting a local client in their search to for a
Welder I in Charlotte, NC. The Welder I position is a vital member of the Manufacturing Team contributing to our safety culture, providing high
productivity, high quality welds, flexibility in assignments, and supporting continuous improvement in the following capacities:

Responsibilities include:
- Perform GTAW and FCAW welds on a variety of thicknesses, sizes, and orientations of equipment
- Read and interpret engineered drawings and job travelers
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
- Use basic hand tools such as tape measure, level, square, etc.
- Follow established safety and quality policies, procedures, and practices
- Safely use overhead crane and lifting equipment
- Maintain and complete all required documentation and electronic records
Required Qualifications:
- Pass the GTAW vertical test
- Positive mindset with high energy and ability to self-manage
- Standard shift 5:00 – 3:30, M-Th. (Friday and Saturday OT as needed)
- Ability to lift 75 lbs.
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Knowledge of fabrication processes such as bending, punching, welding, etc…
- Read tape measure
- Perform mathematical calculations required for fabrication
- Understand and comfortable adding and subtracting fractions and decimals
- Basic tool and shop knowledge
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
