Now Hiring: Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Associate
Location: Houston, TX | 77023
Pay: $18.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM 

Openwork is currently seeking a dependable Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Associate to join a manufacturing facility in Houston, TX. Our client, in business since 1971 works in law enforcement supply.  

Responsibilities:

• Inventory Accuracy: Conduct regular cycle counts and annual physical inventories to ensure system records match physical stock.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze trends, and report on shrinkage or stock discrepancies.
• Stock Management: Monitor reorder points, receive incoming shipments, and ensure proper storage to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
• Discrepancy Investigation: Investigate inventory inaccuracies by tracing discrepancies from receiving through shipping to identify root causes.
• Process Improvement: Develop, maintain, and enforce inventory procedures, including labeling protocols and item location codes.
• Quality Control: Inspect incoming and stored products for damage or defects, and handle damaged goods according to company policy.
• Supplier/Warehouse Coordination: Communicate with vendors regarding discrepancies and work closely with warehouse staff to streamline receiving and dispatch processes.

 

Requirements:

• 2+ years of warehouse & shipping and receiving experience
• Inventory experience is a huge plus 
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with MS Excel and Great Plains.
• Analytical Ability: Strong skills in tracking, analyzing, and resolving data discrepancies.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to recording and organizing inventory data.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift materials, in a warehouse environment.
