Openwork is proud to partner with Harris County to recruit dedicated Warehouse Associates to support county logistics and operations. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in managing inventory and warehouse functions, ensuring the efficient distribution of critical supplies, equipment, and materials.

Inventory Management: Control warehouse inventory, fulfill supply requests, and support overall warehouse functions. Monitor stock levels, track expiration dates, implement FIFO procedures, and conduct audits to ensure accuracy.
Warehouse Operations: Oversee daily activities, including receiving, storing, labeling, and distributing materials. Coordinate with logistics teams to manage shipments, and maintain clear documentation of all warehouse activity.
Safety & Compliance: Follow all warehouse safety regulations and handling standards, including those for sensitive or hazardous materials.
Equipment Support: Troubleshoot small equipment such as refrigerators, portable coolers, and fans.
Team Support: Provide additional support for logistics and operations, including courier services, event support, inventory, and supply chain coordination.
Other Duties: Perform additional assignments as needed to support departmental functions.
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent (required)
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory management and/or warehouse operations
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proven experience in warehouse management, logistics, or inventory control
Familiarity with medical or technical supplies and equipment (preferred)
Strong computer skills and proficiency with inventory management software
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently while taking ownership of responsibilities

Type: Grant-Funded, Full-Time (40 hours/week, Monday–Friday)
Pay: $16–$19/hour, depending on experience
Work Environment: Primarily warehouse-based, with occasional field responsibilities such as event support
Physical Demands:
Ability to drive and operate cargo vans and box trucks
Lift 50+ lbs; frequent standing, bending, and walking required
