Position: Warehouse Associate - Reach Truck / Forklift (Freight Forwarding Focus)
Location: Houston, TX | 77073
Pay: $17.00/hour (Increases possible pending performance)
Schedule: 

• Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Option to work 9:45 AM – 5:45 PM if preferred)

• 1-hour lunch: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

• Overtime available as needed

Openwork is currently seeking a dependable Warehouse Associate with freight forwarding experience to join a bustling Warehouse Distribution facility in Houston, TX. Our client, who has been in business for over 100 years, offers excellent growth opportunities and premier benefits if hired on permanently.

What You'll Be Doing: 

• Utilize RF scanners for picking, receiving, storing, and tracking international and domestic freight movements.

• Verify contents of picked/assembled orders against shipping documentation, air waybills (AWBs), and bill of lading (BOL) manifests to guarantee accuracy.

• Inspect inbound and outbound freight for damage, correct labeling, and proper hazmat/shipping disclosures.

• Safely operate material handling equipment—including Reach Trucks, Slip Sheet/Push-Pull attachments, and Sit-Down Forklifts (6,000 lb & 12,000 lb)—to load, unload, and stage cargo.

• Handle non-standard, large pallet sizes across diverse commodity types (auto parts, apparel, food, industrial equipment, and appliances).

• Perform labeling, sorting, repacking, and export/import palletization as required by freight forwarding protocols.

• Execute precise inventory procedures and perform basic data entry via Microsoft Teams, Excel, or written logs.

• Maintain cross-functional flexibility across multiple warehouse and logistics functions.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma, equivalency certificate, or relevant experience.

• 5+ years of experience in a Warehouse Worker, Checker, or Freight Forwarding environment.

• 5+ years of operational experience with Reach Lift equipment.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Slip Sheet / Push-Pull attachments.

• Strong background in freight forwarding operations, export packaging, and shipping documentation (BOL, packing lists).

• Expert knowledge of all general warehousing operations and safety standards.
