Warehouse Associate (Metal Processing) – $18/hr + Overtime Opportunities

Pay: $18.00 / hour (Paid Weekly + Overtime Potential)

Schedule: Monday – Friday (Flexible 1st Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM | Rotating Saturdays)

Openwork is partnering with a leading regional metal distributor to find a dedicated Warehouse Associate to join their team. This facility is currently located in north Austin with plans to move to south Austin.

In this role, you’ll do hands-on, high-precision work—pulling raw metals and operating specialized industrial machinery to process custom cut-to-size orders. If you take pride in accuracy, craftsmanship, and being part of a strong team, this is a fantastic career move with paid training included!

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Order Processing: Accurately pulling raw metal stock (steel, aluminum, stainless, brass, and copper) using sales pick tickets

• Quality Assurance: Measuring cuts to verify exact industrial tolerances and double-checking piece counts against order sheets

• Inbound & Outbound Logistics: Unloading freight, checking for damage, stocking racks, and securely packaging orders for transit

• Customer & Field Support: Assisting will-call customers with loading as needed

What We’re Looking For:

• 1–2 years of experience in a warehouse, metal service center, manufacturing, or construction setting preferred (experience with industrial saws is a major plus!)

• High proficiency in reading tape measures accurately down to fractions of an inch and performing basic cutting math

• Physical ability to regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs and manage heavier materials using team lifts or equipment

• Friendly, professional customer service skills for client interactions

• Willingness to submit to a background check and drug screening
