Voter Clerks Needed – Help Support Elections in Harris County

Location: Downtown Houston
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (with occasional weekends)
Pay: $15/hour
Start Date: January 2026

Openwork is partnering with Harris County to hire motivated and detail-oriented Voter Clerks for the Harris County Administration Building. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to support public services, assist community members, and contribute directly to an efficient and trustworthy election process.

Key Responsibilities

As a Voter Clerk, you will be a vital public-facing resource by:

• Reviewing and processing voter registration applications and documentation

• Issuing voter registration certificates

• Responding to phone calls and assisting residents with voter inquiries

• Processing mail-in and phone-based voter registration requests

• Providing accurate information on precincts, polling locations, early voting, and Election Day procedures

• Preparing incoming mail for imaging and further processing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required)

• At least 1 year of recent, in-person customer service and data entry experience

• Strong attendance and punctuality

• Ability to type 30 WPM (skills test required)

• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends during peak election seasons

• Bilingual in Spanish, Chinese, or Vietnamese is preferred but not required

All candidates must complete background checks, drug screening, and education and employment verification, all conducted in accordance with applicable regulations.
