Openwork is proud to partner with a trusted public safety supplier to hire a Uniform Clerk in Southeast Houston. In this role, you’ll do more than sell uniforms—you’ll play a key part in making sure our community’s first responders are equipped and ready to serve. From police officers and firefighters to EMTs and other public safety professionals, the people you help will depend on you to provide gear that fits right and performs under pressure.

Typical Responsibilities

• Assist with inventory tracking

• Help customers with uniform sizing and selection to ensure proper fit

• Maintain accurate records of inventory and alterations

• Interact with customers in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner

• Keep the uniform area clean, organized, and visually appealing

Key Responsibilities

• Guide customers through product selection and fittings

• Maintain a well-stocked and organized sales floor

• Receive, unpack, tag, and display new inventory

• Monitor stock levels and communicate restock needs

• Process returns and special orders with care

• Stay up to date on uniform specifications and product updates

• Collaborate with store staff to deliver an exceptional customer experience

Skills We’re Looking For

• Organization – Manage inventory and maintain accurate records

• Communication – Engage effectively with customers and team members

• Attention to Detail – Spot defects during quality control and ensure accuracy

• Customer Service – Provide a positive, helpful, and professional experience

• Teamwork – Collaborate within a supportive team environment

• Computer Skills – Comfortable with data entry, Word, Outlook, and Excel

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail or customer service experience

• Apparel or uniform retail background (Jos. A. Bank, Men’s Wearhouse, SuitMart, etc.) preferred

• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail

• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

• High school diploma or GED required

• Familiarity with public safety or tactical gear is a plus

• Ability to lift and move merchandise as needed

Schedule

• Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (with one weekday off)

• Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

• Sunday: Off

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay: $17.00/hour, paid weekly

What You’ll Do

• Provide expert fittings and size recommendations

• Keep the sales floor organized, stocked, and welcoming

• Receive, unpack, tag, and display new inventory

• Track stock levels and flag restock needs

• Process returns and special orders with care

• Stay up to date on uniform specifications and product changes

• Work with a collaborative team focused on customer satisfaction

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of retail or customer service experience

• Background in apparel or uniform retail (Jos. A. Bank, Men’s Wearhouse, SuitMart, etc.) preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail with the ability to multitask
