In this hands-on and safety-focused role, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on company trailers to ensure compliance, reliability, and operational efficiency. In a Trailer Mechanic job you’ll be responsible for:

? Assessing and repairing mechanical defects while ensuring DOT safety compliance
? Conducting and documenting DOT inspections and repairs
? Performing preventative maintenance and T1 trailer inspections
? Diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, brake systems, suspensions, landing gears, lift gates, and hydraulic components
? Troubleshooting trailer hitching and vehicle electrical issues
? Completing minor safety and lighting repairs up to full trailer rebuilds
? Preparing material lists and outlining necessary repairs
? Using diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve mechanical issues

What you’ll need:

? Minimum of 1 year of proven experience as a certified or licensed mechanic specializing in trailers
? Valid driver’s license
? Ability to perform DOT Federal Inspections
? Strong knowledge of hydraulics, air brake systems, and electrical systems
? Hands-on experience with diagnostic equipment
? Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
? Physical strength, manual dexterity, and experience using hand tools
? Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
? Prior experience in the tire recycling or manufacturing industry is a plus
