Meador an Openwork Company is currently engaged in a search to find a Dependable Tool Room Attendant in Ashtabula, OH. In this precision-focused, essential role, you will be responsible for maintaining the organization, safety, and efficiency of our tool and equipment inventory. The successful candidate will oversee the proper storage, handling, and distribution of tools, ensuring that all equipment is available, well-maintained, and compliant with safety standards.  In a Tool Room Attendant job, you’ll be responsible for:
  • Manage the storage, organization, and tracking of tools and equipment within the tool room
  • Assist in inventory control by conducting regular stock counts and data collection
  • Support procurement activities by sourcing tools and materials as needed
  • Maintain accurate records using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems such as SAP or AS400
  • Conduct root cause analysis for tool shortages or damages to improve process efficiency
  • Operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment safely to move heavy items
  • Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and production teams to optimize supply chain flow
  • Implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and reduce downtime
  • Support maintenance of safety standards related to materials handling and storage
 What you’ll need:
  • Proven warehouse experience with a focus on tools or materials management
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (e.g., SAP, AS400), and data analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Strong data analysis skills for inventory control, demand planning, and supply chain analytics
  • Knowledge of procurement processes including sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of logistics, and materials handling standards
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
