Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a Technician for a technology infrastructure firm located in Austin, TX. In this role, you’ll be responsible for performing structured cabling installations, troubleshooting hardware/system and integrations, . The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of hands-on experience in low-voltage cabling, system installations, and certifications.

As a Technician, you’ll be responsible for:

• Performing structured cabling installations, including terminations, punchdowns, and certifications.

• Conducting Troubleshooting

• Testing and certifying copper and fiber optic cabling.

• Maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials used.

• Following job site safety protocols and best practices.

• Collaborating with project managers and field teams to meet project timelines.

What you’ll need:

• 1–3 years of relevant, hands-on experience in structured cabling and system installation.

• Proficiency with test equipment and performing punchdowns.

• Ability to independently troubleshoot hardware and low-voltage systems.

• Prior experience mentoring or guiding junior technicians (preferred).

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Flexible availability to work varying shifts or extended hours.

• Comfortable working in non-climate-controlled or outdoor environments.

• Pay range: $19–$23/hr, based on experience.
