TAX MANAGER

Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a skilled Tax Manager in Houston, TX. In this dynamic and high-impact role, you will be responsible for leading strategic tax planning, driving process improvements, and serving as a direct partner to executive leadership. In a Tax Manager job you’ll be responsible for:

• Managing the preparation and review of company federal tax returns and ensuring accurate, timely filing under the direction of leadership.

• Ensuring the accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns and direct business filings.

• Developing and implementing strategic tax planning and return calendars across all necessary federal and state taxes.

• Identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures and maintaining effective control systems.

• Managing and facilitating IRS income tax audits, including preparing responses and schedules.

• Monitoring tax law developments, communicating their effects to management, and creating strategies to capitalize on regulatory changes.

What you’ll need:

• 5+ years of professional tax experience (experience in a tax manager or public accountant role preferred).

• Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing federal corporate income tax returns.

• Proven experience with multi-state income tax compliance.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, and familiarity with Sage, Lacerte, or ProSeries.

Details:

• $125,000 - $150,000 per year
• Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (In-Office)
