Physical Requirements:
This position requires body and hand mobility with the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. without assistance. Frequent walking, stooping, reaching and ability to stand for prolonged periods are also required
Responsibilities:
The Tabler is responsible for operating a vertical measuring table to raise drapery panels to the desired finished length indicated on the manufacturing ticket. Once the length is determined, the operator will staple crinoline to the top of the drapery.
After removing the panels from the table, the crinoline will be applied with a straight stitch sewing machine. Other duties would include assisting members of the drapery team in areas as needed.
Special Skills:
Special skills include, basic math skills, ability to read and understand standard measurements and manufacturing tickets with acute attentiveness to detail. Basic entry level sewing skills
Tools
Tabling utilizes a special vertical measuring table to raise the drapery panel to the desired finished length. Manual hand staplers are used to apply the crinoline to the header (top) of the drapery. A single needle sewing machine is used to apply crinoline to the drapery panel
Training
5-6 weeks
1-2 weeks basic sewing training (if necessary)
Periodic cross training for flexibility to perform tasks in other departments
