Location: Pasadena, Texas
Salary: $90,000 - $105,000 + Bonus
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9/80 Work Schedule

We are seeking a highly motivated Supply Chain Specialist to join our team in Pasadena, Texas. This role is responsible for coordinating customer orders, raw material purchasing, logistics planning, transportation management, inventory control, and supply chain optimization. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, logistics expertise, and experience supporting manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Order Management

  • Process customer sales orders and ensure timely product delivery.
  • Manage critical portions of the order-to-cash process, including accurate sales order entry and fulfillment.
  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers, carriers, Operations, and Accounting to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Review co-product tank levels and communicate product availability to customers on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain professional and effective customer communications.

Raw Material Purchasing

  • Manage purchase orders and ensure timely procurement of raw materials.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, Operations, and Accounting to ensure uninterrupted material supply.
  • Schedule inbound raw material railcars based on supplier availability and production forecasts.
  • Monitor and manage raw material contracts, ensuring compliance with volume requirements and contract milestones.

Supply Chain & Logistics Planning

  • Manage offsite inventory to support domestic and international shipping requirements.
  • Maintain planning and forecasting tools by updating inbound and outbound rail and truck activity.
  • Coordinate inventory transfers to support production and customer demand.
  • Manage lot number databases and related documentation.
  • Create shipping and receiving night orders to support operational planning.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to optimize supply chain performance.
  • Support international shipments and export documentation as needed.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze supply chain data.
  • Participate in monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings and provide reporting and recommendations.

Transportation & Logistics Management

  • Coordinate railcar traffic into and out of the facility.
  • Maintain carrier requirements, contact information, and freight rates.
  • Monitor carrier performance and delivery metrics.
  • Negotiate transportation agreements and dedicated freight lanes while managing costs.

Pricing & Invoice Management

  • Calculate and communicate customer formula pricing.
  • Maintain pricing accuracy within the ERP system.
  • Review freight and logistics invoices for accuracy and approve or dispute charges prior to payment.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with customer issue resolution and service-related concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and customer requirements.
  • Maintain and update operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Support inventory management activities and mitigate supply shortages.
  • Provide backup support to other Supply Chain team members as needed.
  • Support Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2-4+ years of progressive experience in customer service, logistics, or supply chain within a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of transportation and logistics operations, including:
    • Bulk transportation
    • Packaged goods
    • Rail transportation
    • Ocean freight
    • DOT regulations
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms.

Preferred

  • Experience handling international shipments and export documentation.
  • Knowledge of supply chain planning and inventory management processes.
  • Experience developing and reporting KPIs.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and external partners.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based environment.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
  • Occasional customer visits may be necessary.
  • On-call availability for logistics-related matters as needed, with appropriate documentation of after-hours support.
