Now Hiring: Structural Fitter
Pay: $20-$23
(Will Pay up to $28 for those with welder-fitter experience)
Location: Houston, TX 77064
Schedule: 7:30am - 3:30pm
Position Purpose:
Fabricate and construct structural metal items. Fit and Weld equipment from structural steel and other materials using blueprints and detailed engineering drawings in a fast- paced environment to support customer satisfaction, manufacturing & sales.
What You'll Be Doing:

- Must have required tools.
- Understand and practice company safety policies and procedures.
- Understand and practice weld procedures. IE: GMAW SMAW, FCAW, TGAW
- Fit material according to drawings in a reasonable amount of time.
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
- Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
- Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
- Examine work pieces for defects to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Identify material, cut, prepare, deburr, lay-out, position, align, fit and weld parts to form complete units.
- Understand engineering drawings, blueprints and job travelers to determine material requirements and task sequences.
- Understand and practice company material traceability procedures
- Move parts into position with hoists or cranes.
What We're Looking For:
- Knowledge of proper tack welding procedures
- Blow Torches – Motorized cutting torches; Pattern cutting torches; Welding torches
- Gas welding or cutting equipment.
- Skilled at safe operation of Fork truck, overhead beam, and jib cranes
- Use of Welding tools and equipment
- Welding jigs and fixtures
- Knowledge of different types of welds and weld symbols. FHR009
- All welders shall always wear appropriate welding hoods and company issued PPE when welding.
- Ability to work with assigned helpers to expedite the welding process.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have 2 - 7 years structural fitter/welding experience
- Certified welder a plus
- Trade school or Vo-Tech
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The work performed is conducted in a climate-controlled facility with moderate noise levels that are within OSHA limits
- Must be able to lift 25 – 50 lbs
- Must be able to walk, talk, sit, stand, and communicate verbally continuously throughout an 8 hour period.
