Seeking: Structural Fitter – 1st Shift
Location: Northeast Houston, TX
Pay: $19.00–$23.00 per hour (based on experience) | Weekly Pay
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Weekends & Overtime: Based on company needs

Openwork is seeking experienced Structural Fitters to join a respected manufacturer of premium steel and aluminum bar grating in Northeast Houston. What You'll Do
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols
- Measure, mark, cut, grind, and prepare steel components for fabrication
- Fit and tack weld materials according to specifications
- Assemble grating panels, stair treads, frames, and other structural components
- Safely operate forklifts, hoists, and overhead cranes
- Inspect finished assemblies to ensure dimensional accuracy within a 1/8-inch tolerance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work closely with welders, supervisors, and team members to meet production goals
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of structural fitting, fabrication, or related manufacturing experience
- Ability to successfully complete a Handrail Fit-Up Test
- Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
- Experience using hand tools, grinders, cutting torches, and measuring equipment
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an active manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to quality workmanship
