Structural Fitter – First Shift
Location: Northeast Houston, TX
Pay: $22.00 – $23.00 per hour (based on experience) | Weekly Pay
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Saturday as needed, overtime available)

Openwork is partnering with a leading manufacturer of steel and aluminum products to hire experienced Structural Fitters.
This role is ideal for individuals who take pride in precision work, enjoy hands-on fabrication, and want to grow with a company that values quality, safety, and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and welding symbols
- Measure, cut, grind, and prepare materials for fabrication
- Fit and tack weld structural components to specifications
- Assemble grating, stair treads, frames, and related structures
- Operate forklifts, hoists, and overhead cranes safely
- Inspect assemblies to ensure accuracy within tight tolerances
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of structural fitting or fabrication experience
- Ability to pass a fit-up test
- Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
- Experience with hand tools, grinders, cutting torches, and measuring tools
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active throughout the shift
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and work ethic
