Openwork is currently hiring a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk for a busy warehouse operation in Houston, TX! The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for accurately picking, packing, preparing, and shipping customer orders while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience who is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately pick customer orders using pick lists, shipping documentation, and ERP systems
• Pack products securely to prevent damage during handling and transit
• Prepare outbound shipments by labeling, weighing, staging, and verifying orders
• Complete shipping documentation and system transactions accurately
• Maintain accurate tracking information, shipment records, and inventory updates
• Monitor and respond to group email inboxes and communicate with Receiving, Customer Service, and Operations
• Assist with resolving order discrepancies and delivery issues
• Operate material handling equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts, safely
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse work area
• Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse guidelines

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of shipping and/or receiving experience preferred
• Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred
• Forklift certification is a plus, but not required
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to read and follow written instructions
• Comfortable multitasking and meeting deadlines
• Strong communication skills
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Comfortable standing, walking, and working in warehouse conditions with seasonal temperature changes

Schedule & Pay:

Location: Houston, TX 77029
Pay: $17–$18/hour, depending on experience
Shift Options:

• 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM OR
• 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
