Shipping Clerk – Packing & Shipping

Location: Deer Park, TX 77536
Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable Shipping Clerk to join our Packing & Shipping department. This position is responsible for inspecting, packaging, labeling, and preparing finished products for shipment while ensuring accuracy and preventing damage during transit.

Job Responsibilities

• Package and prepare finished products for shipment according to work orders and written or verbal instructions.

• Visually inspect parts to verify quantity, quality, and correct sizing before packaging.

• Select appropriate packaging materials, including boxes, wooden crates, fillers, and protective materials.

• Secure packages using tape, staples, metal strapping, and other packaging equipment.

• Apply shipping labels, stencils, and other required identification to packages.

• Weigh shipments, determine proper postage when applicable, and prepare orders for delivery.

• Load shipments onto company trucks or commercial carriers.

• Build wooden crates, assemble boxes, and package company mail as needed.

• Operate hand trucks, power saws, staplers, stenciling equipment, and banding tools.

• Report defective materials, equipment issues, or other concerns to the supervisor.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety procedures.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Ability to safely operate basic packaging tools and equipment.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment.

• Dependable, organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

• Ability to perform the physical requirements of packing, handling, and shipping materials.

Work Environment

This position involves standing, bending, lifting, packaging materials, and handling finished products throughout the workday. Candidates should be comfortable working in a hands-on shipping and warehouse environment.
