Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a Skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator for a well-established manufacturing company located in San Antonio, TX. In this role, you’ll be responsible for fabricating, forming, cutting, and assembling sheet metal components while ensuring precision, safety, and quality workmanship. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and passionate about learning a unique, high-demand trade skill. You will receive training as a Press Brake Operator, so a willingness to learn, be coached, and grow your skillset is essential.

As a Sheet Metal Fabricator/Press Brake Operator, you’ll be responsible for:

• Setting up and operating sheet metal fabrication equipment such as shears, rollers, and hand tools

• Measuring, cutting, bending, and shaping sheet metal materials to precise specifications

• Performing assembly, deburring, and finishing work to ensure high-quality components

• Inspecting completed parts for accuracy, quality, and compliance with production standards

• Troubleshooting fabrication issues and adjusting equipment as needed

• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment

• Working closely with production teams, supervisors, and quality control to meet deadlines and manufacturing goals

• Learning to operate a Press Brake under training and coaching guidance (training provided)

What you’ll need:

• 2–5 years of sheet metal fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on fabrication skills

• Experience working with sheet metal tools such as shears, hand tools, and measurement instruments

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics

• Solid understanding of fabrication processes, tolerances, and material handling

• High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines

• Willingness to learn, be coached, and grow into a Press Brake Operator role

• Reliable work ethic and commitment to safety protocols
