Openwork is hiring an experienced Retail Associate / Inventory professional for an established public-safety retail operation in Southeast Houston, TX 77023. This position is primarily retail-focused, combining customer service, sales support, merchandise organization, and inventory duties.

We're looking for someone with 2+ years of relevant experience, strong customer-service skills, excellent attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Candidates should be comfortable working in an environment involving firearm culture and safety.

Position at a Glance

Location: Southeast Houston, TX 77023
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Pay Frequency: Weekly Pay
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, with one weekday off
Saturday: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM
Sunday: Off

What You'll Be Doing

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service

• Assist with product selections, purchases, returns, and exchanges

• Receive, label, stock, and organize merchandise

• Maintain a clean and organized retail sales floor

• Monitor inventory and replenish products as needed

• Assist with inventory counts and verify incoming shipments

• Maintain accurate product and inventory records

• Follow company procedures involving firearm awareness and workplace safety

• Support additional retail and warehouse duties as needed

What You'll Need to Succeed

• 2+ years of in-person retail or customer-facing experience — REQUIRED

• Direct experience assisting customers face-to-face

• Strong customer-service and communication skills

• Comfortable working primarily on the retail side of the business

• Comfortable working in an environment involving firearm culture and safety

• Willingness and ability to learn new products and procedures

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Basic computer and point-of-sale system skills

• Dependable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude

• Ability to meet required background-screening requirements

Preferred Experience

• Retail sales and customer service

• Inventory management, stocking, or receiving

• Public-safety products, uniforms, or tactical equipment

• Point-of-sale systems and inventory tracking

Previous public-safety industry experience is not required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Primarily customer-facing retail environment

• Exposure to public-safety merchandise and firearm-related products

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift

• Ability to safely lift, carry, and move merchandise

• Follow all company safety and product-handling procedures

• Availability to work the assigned weekday and Saturday schedule
