Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find an R&D Technician in the Griffin, GA area.
In this role, you will support the Research and Development team by assisting with formulation development, laboratory testing, and equipment operation in an extrusion and testing lab environment. Apply today if you meet the qualifications listed below.

In an R&D Technician role, you’ll be responsible for:

• Assisting the Technical Manager with the development of new formulations and analytical testing

• Operating laboratory extruders to support research, development, and production activities

• Compiling, recording, and analyzing data from compounding and testing projects

• Running formulation batches according to standard operating procedures and project requirements

• Conducting small-scale experiments to better understand system components

• Maintaining, operating, and calibrating laboratory equipment

• Managing inventory of raw materials and critical components

• Accurately documenting laboratory measurements and test results

What you’ll need:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent attention to detail

• Strong organizational and time-management skills

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Ability to follow defined procedures and document results accurately

• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Positive attitude with high energy and a team-oriented mindset

• Ability to work independently once trained, showing initiative and accountability

• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds throughout the workday

Work Environment & Schedule:

• Work performed in extrusion and testing laboratories in Griffin, GA

• Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday

• Night Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday – Friday

• Additional hours may be required

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required per task and PPE map
