Position Summary

The Quality Lab Technician is responsible for performing inspections, testing, and quality assurance activities to ensure products meet company, customer, and regulatory standards. This position supports manufacturing operations by collecting and analyzing samples, documenting test results, identifying quality concerns, and helping maintain a safe and compliant production environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing and quality inspections on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
  • Collect, prepare, and analyze product samples according to established procedures.
  • Accurately document test results and maintain quality records.
  • Verify products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.
  • Identify non-conforming materials and communicate findings to production and management.
  • Calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory testing equipment.
  • Assist with investigations of quality issues and support corrective actions.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
  • Assist with audits and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous quality control, laboratory, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to accurately record and interpret data.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry.
  • Ability to read and follow written procedures and work instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift up to 30 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Manual dexterity to operate laboratory equipment and testing instruments.
  • Comfortable working in both laboratory and manufacturing environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or coursework in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience with laboratory testing equipment, quality systems, or GMP environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance procedures and documentation practices.
