Openwork is assisting a well-established local manufacturing company in finding an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Control Manager to join their team in Concord, NC.
The Quality Control Manager will lead and oversee quality assurance and quality management activities, maintain and improve quality systems, ensure compliance with industry standards, and promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.
This is a hands-on leadership position ideal for a quality professional with experience in precision manufacturing, machining, engineering, and quality management systems.

Position: Full-Time, On-Site
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Hours: 40–50 hours per week
Salary: $80,000–$120,000 per year, depending on experience and education
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily quality control and quality assurance activities.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve quality management systems.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements.
- Conduct and manage internal quality audits and support external audits.
- Maintain quality procedures, documentation, and records.
- Identify quality issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure products meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
- Support compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and applicable industry requirements.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and management teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Oversee the proper use and calibration of precision measurement equipment.
- Operate and program CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) equipment.
- Promote continuous improvement and accountability throughout the organization.
- Provide quality-related leadership, training, and guidance to employees.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or Quality Management within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and continuous improvement principles.
- Experience implementing and maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Experience conducting internal audits for ISO 9001 and AS9100.
- Experience in precision machining or manufacturing.
- Experience using a wide variety of precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
- Experience operating and programming CMMs.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and team-management abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and hands-on industry experience may be considered.
