Now Hiring: QC Inspector | 1st Shift
Location: Houston, TX | 77051
Pay: $16-$19/hour
Schedule: 7:00am - 5:00pm
Openwork is currently seeking several dependable QC Inspectors for a well-established pipe, valve, flange company in Houston.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Daily use and care of measuring equipment consisting of calipers, micrometers, tap measure, height gage and NPT threaded gages
- Daily inspection on inbound and outbound material
- Perform thorough examinations of all materials and finished products
- Implement and improve quality control operating procedures
- Participate in routine visual inspections
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Ability to enter data into report
What We're Looking For:
- Bilingual; Spanish and English, preferred (ability to communicate effectively with warehouse personnel in both languages).
- Computer proficiency
- 6 months+ quality control experience
- Moderate math and analytical skills
- Verifiable outdoor work experience
- Good communication skills.
- Experience with/Product knowledge with Flanges, Fittings and Pipe is a plus
- Excellent work ethic: ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player
- Ability to multitask.
- Self-stater and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb and move about the facility.
- Ability to occasionally lift to 50 lbs.
- Available to work overtime if necessary, including Saturdays.
- Qualified applicants must be willing to submit to a background check and drug test
Physical demands and abilities:
- Experience on Sit-Down Forklift, Stand-up Reach Truck or Picker preferred.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 lbs. occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
