We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented QC Floater to support our Quality Control team. This role is responsible for performing inspections, testing, and documentation to ensure products meet company and customer specifications. The QC Floater will work across multiple areas of the QC department, providing coverage when needed and supporting the team in maintaining product quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Perform inspections of raw materials (railcars, bulk trucks), in-process products, and outgoing finished goods to ensure conformance with specifications.
Document results accurately, enter data into spreadsheets, and report issues to QC/production management.
Support Analytical Technicians with COA and testing (MFR, Moisture, Pellet Count, Color, Ash, and physical properties).
Conduct equipment verifications, basic preventive maintenance, and manage inspection supplies.
Discard QC scrap and retains, refill purge drums, and maintain sample box materials.
Assist with last-box checks, quality issue investigations, and training of new QC staff.
Move samples/materials as needed and maintain cleanliness/organization of QC areas.
Qualifications
Prior experience in quality control, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
Ability to follow procedures, perform inspections, and utilize testing instruments.
Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Flexibility to cover different shifts and tasks as required.
Basic computer skills (data entry, spreadsheets).
