Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a Purchasing Coordinator for a well-established manufacturing company in Austin, TX. In this role, you'll be responsible for sourcing, ordering, and tracking parts, components, and materials needed to support daily manufacturing operations. This is a great opportunity for someone organized, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
As a Purchasing Coordinator, you'll be responsible for:
Processing purchase orders for parts, components, and production materials in a timely manner
Monitoring inventory levels and reordering stock as needed to prevent production delays
Tracking incoming shipments and confirming delivery accuracy and timeliness
Communicating with vendors and suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, and order status
Researching and evaluating alternative suppliers to secure competitive pricing
Maintaining accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory in the company system
Working closely with production and warehouse teams to anticipate material needs
Assisting in resolving discrepancies related to invoices, deliveries, or damaged goods
Supporting physical inventory counts and cycle counts as needed
Identifying opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or delivery
What you'll need:
0–2 years of experience in purchasing, inventory, or a related role
Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, operations, or a related field is a plus
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft 365 Office software
Clear written and verbal communication skills for vendor and internal coordination
Ability to prioritize multiple requests and meet deadlines
Comfortable working in an in-office environment in Austin, TX
Willingness to learn purchasing systems and company purchasing policies
Perks:
$50,000–$60,000 annual salary, depending on experience
