Now Hiring: 2nd Shift Lead
Location: Houston
Pay: $25/hour
SCHEDULE:
  • Training on day shift | 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • Will eventually move to 2nd shift role 3:00pm - 1:30am (Must be on sight by 2:00pm for production meeting)
  • Working 5 to 6 days per week 


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Model and promote safe work practices in accordance with Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) policies.

  • Support adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) standards across all production activities.

  • Perform daily forklift and crane inspections and submit documentation to Maintenance.

  • Conduct routine respirator inspections and verify proper usage.

  • Confirm required safety logs (shower logs, inspections) are completed and submitted.

  • Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, or hazards to the Senior Supervisor.
     

  • Provide hands-on support across production operations, including:

    • Mill Operator

    • Decoil & Roll-Up Operators

    • Saw Operator

    • Packaging Lead & Packaging Operators

    • Scrap Operator (as needed)

  • Fill in across production areas as required to maintain workflow.

  • Assist with daily production priorities and sequencing as directed by the Senior Supervisor or Production Scheduler.

  • Verify work is completed according to job travelers, schedules, and work instructions.

  • Measure and verify:

    • Material thickness (micrometers)

    • Width, length, and squareness
      Finished product weights

  • Complete and submit daily production and inspection reports accurately and on time.

  • Report material shortages or production issues, including:

    • Description of issue

    • Suspected cause

    • Immediate corrective actions taken

  • Assist with weekly inventory counts and shop supply requests as directed.

  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and support daily housekeeping standards.

  • Assist with end-of-shift cleanup and securing equipment as needed.

  • Support proper scrap segregation, color-coding, and handling.

  • Assist with loading trucks and verifying load accuracy when required.


REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 3–5 years of hands-on manufacturing or production experience

  • Sit-down propane forklift proficiency (required)

  • Overhead crane experience (highly preferred)

  • Ability to wear a respirator

  • Strong math and measurement skills (tape measure, micrometers)

  • Ability to read and write in English

  • Solid understanding of shop safety practices and OSHA basics

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Team-oriented, dependable, and safety-focused
