The Clearlake Branch of Meador Staffing has partnered with a local manufacturing company to bring a Pre-press operator to their team Job Summary: The Pre-Press Operator is responsible for preparing and processing digital files for production in a sign manufacturing environment. This role ensures all artwork meets production specifications, is print-ready, and aligns with customer and company quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, experience with large-format printing, and proficiency in design and prepress software. Key Responsibilities:
Review customer artwork and job specifications for accuracy, completeness, and print readiness
Prepare, edit, and optimize files for large-format printing, routing, and cutting equipment
Ensure proper color management, resolution, scaling, and file formatting
Set up print layouts, nesting, and imposition for efficient material usage
Collaborate with design, sales, and production teams to resolve file issues or discrepancies
Operate RIP software and maintain workflow queues for production
Conduct quality checks prior to printing to minimize errors and rework
Maintain organized digital file systems and job documentation
Stay current with industry standards, software updates, and printing technologies
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional degree in graphic design or printing technology preferred
1–3 years of prepress experience, preferably in sign or large-format printing
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
Experience with RIP software (e.g., Onyx, Caldera, or similar)
Strong understanding of color profiles, file formats, and print production processes
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple jobs and meet production deadlines
