Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a Powder Coating for a well-established manufacturing company located in North or South San Antonio. In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the powder coating process from preparation through final cure, ensuring high-quality finishes and consistent production standards. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is experienced, detail-oriented, and takes pride in producing top-quality work.

As a Powder Coating Technician, you’ll be responsible for:

• Preparing metal parts for powder coating, including cleaning, blasting, masking, and inspection

• Setting up, operating, and adjusting powder coating spray systems and curing ovens

• Applying powder coatings to meet thickness, appearance, and durability specifications

• Monitoring oven temperatures and cure times to ensure proper finish

• Inspecting finished products for defects and performing touch-ups or rework as needed

• Troubleshooting coating defects and process issues

• Performing routine maintenance on powder coating equipment

• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment

• Assisting with training and mentoring junior technicians

• Following all safety, quality, and environmental procedures

What you’ll need:

• 5+ years of hands-on powder coating experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting

• Strong knowledge of powder coating materials, application techniques, and curing processes

• Experience with electrostatic spray systems and industrial ovens

• Ability to identify and correct coating defects

• Excellent attention to detail and quality standards

• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
