Now Hiring: Pipeyard Helper | 2nd Shift
Location: Houston,  TX | 77051 
Pay: $15/hour +$2/hour Shift Differential
Schedule: 2:00pm - 11:00pm 

Openwork is currently seeking several dependable Pipeyard Helpers for a well-established pipe, valve, flange company in Houston. 

What You'll Be Doing: 

• Ability to follow both verbal and hand signal instructions to identify pipe to be moved
• Verifies heat numbers, quantity, and complete chocking of pipe
• Installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit Painting, stenciling, sandblasting, coating pipes
• Observe all safety precautions and wear appropriate PPE at all times
• Cross-train on alternate assignments and perform duties in other work areas as needed
• Maintain Housekeeping in assigned work area
• Any other duties as requested by respective supervisor and/or manager 

What We're Looking For: 

• Bilingual; Spanish and English, preferred (ability to communicate effectively with warehouse personnel in both languages).
• Moderate math and analytical skills
• Verifiable outdoor work experience
• Good communication skills.
• Experience with/Product knowledge with Flanges, Fittings and Pipe is a plus
• Excellent work ethic: ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player
• Ability to multitask.
• Self-stater and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb and move about the facility.
• Ability to occasionally lift to 50 lbs.
• Available to work overtime if necessary, including Saturdays.
• Qualified applicants must be willing to submit to a background check and drug test

Physical demands and abilities:
• Experience on Sit-Down Forklift, Stand-up Reach Truck or Picker preferred.
• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
• Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 lbs. occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
