Openwork is currently hiring a Payroll Specialist (Accounting Background Required) for a well-established company in College Park, GA. This is a great opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys detailed analysis, auditing, and explaining payroll trends in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities include:

• Processing weekly payroll accurately and on time

• Reviewing and auditing payroll data to identify errors, inconsistencies, and discrepancies

• Analyzing payroll reports to identify week-over-week trends and variances

• Comparing current payroll totals to prior weeks and determining causes of increases or decreases

• Investigating payroll fluctuations related to overtime, rate changes, bonuses, corrections, or missed punches

• Preparing clear reports and explanations of payroll variances for management review

• Ensuring payroll compliance with company policies and applicable regulations

• Partnering with Accounting and HR teams to resolve payroll-related issues

• Maintaining accurate payroll records and documentation

What You’ll Need:

• 5+ years of payroll experience

• Strong accounting background

• Proven experience auditing and analyzing payroll data

• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills

• Proficiency with payroll systems and reporting tools

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Strong communication and documentation skills

Preferred Skills:

• Advanced Excel or payroll reporting experience

• Experience in a high-volume or weekly payroll environment

Pay & Schedule:

• Pay Rate: $22–$24 per hour (based on experience)

• Schedule:

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or

• Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
