Responsibilities

• Answer and dispatch law enforcement calls with accuracy and professionalism.

• Operate CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems to create and manage call slips.

• Use TCIC/NCIC via OpenFox to run warrants, enter stolen property, verify identities, and manage records.

• Handle tow slips, abandoned vehicle reports, and inter-agency transfers.

• Provide clear, reliable radio communication while multitasking across multiple channels.

• Prioritize calls and resources under pressure, ensuring deputies receive timely support.

• Maintain precise dispatch logs and documentation.

• Support deputies, supervisors, and partner agencies with accurate, real-time information flow.

What We’re Looking For

• TCOLE Basic Telecommunicator Certification (required)

• CPR Certification (required; must remain current)

• Prior law enforcement dispatch experience (not trucking/call center dispatch)

• Familiarity with CAD, TCIC/NCIC, and OpenFox systems

• Strong multitasking, time-management, and decision-making skills

• Calm, professional communication under stress

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates highly encouraged

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

• Physically and mentally fit for duty

• Pay: Competitive; starting at $22/hr and up, based on experience & certifications

• Schedule: Part-time, flexible hours (up to 32 hrs/week). Includes weekends, holidays, and fill-in coverage.

• Type: Temp staffing with potential for long-term placement

• Work Type: On-site only (not remote)

• Environment: Fast-paced law enforcement communications center serving Harris County deputies 24/7/365
