Manufacturing & Production
The Panel Assembler is responsible for mechanical layout, sub-assembly, and wiring of industrial control panels and custom electrical enclosures according to engineering schematics, blueprints, and point-to-point wiring schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Blueprint & Schematic Reading: Interpret CAD drawings, electrical schematics, bill of materials (BOM), and mechanical layout prints to direct component mounting and wiring.
Mechanical Assembly: Lay out and mount electrical back-panels, DIN rails, wire ducts, power supplies, PLCs, relays, contactors, and terminal blocks onto enclosures using hand and power tools.
Electrical Wiring & Termination: Measure, cut, strip, crimp, tag, and wire internal panel components using precise wire colors, gauges, and neat wire routing methods.
Inspection & Quality Control: Perform preliminary visual checks for flaws, check clearance, verify wire tightness/torques, and tag identifying markers on finished assemblies.
Testing Support: Assist QA/testing teams during functional low/high-voltage testing and pre-shipment inspections.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: Prior experience in industrial panel wiring, electrical assembly, or electromechanical manufacturing preferred.
Technical Skills: Ability to read schematics/blueprints and comfortably use basic hand tools (strippers, crimpers, torque drivers, drills) and tape measures.
Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, perform rapid/repetitive hand tasks, and regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
