Packaging Specialist – Manufacturing (PM Shift)
Location: Northeast Houston, TX
Pay: $17.00 per hour (Weekly Pay)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 2:45 PM – 1:30 AM
Overtime: Available
Position Overview
Openwork is seeking a dependable Packaging Specialist to support operations at a leading metals manufacturing facility in Northeast Houston. This position plays a key role in preparing products for shipment with accuracy, care, and adherence to safety standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and are looking for a stable, long-term role in manufacturing.
Core Responsibilities
- Package finished materials in accordance with detailed work instructions
- Operate packaging equipment including banding, strapping, and shrink-wrap systems
- Build and secure pallets for domestic and international shipments
- Verify measurements and weights using appropriate tools
- Accurately measure materials using a tape measure
- Operate a forklift to transport and stage materials
- Perform quality checks to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of manufacturing or industrial experience
- 2+ years of experience with packaging equipment and material handling
- Strong attention to detail and measuring skills
- Ability to follow structured processes and instructions
- Forklift experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50–75 pounds and work in a physically active role
- Dependable and safety-conscious
Safety and Compliance Requirements
- Must be clean-shaven to ensure proper respirator fit
- Must be able to wear a respirator for extended periods
- Must be willing to shower after each shift per safety guidelines
- Must successfully pass background and drug screenings
