Packaging Specialist – Manufacturing (AM Shift)
Location: Northeast Houston, TX
Pay: $17.00 per hour (Weekly Pay)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Overtime: Available
Position Overview
Openwork is partnering with a well-established metals manufacturing company in Northeast Houston to hire a detail-oriented Packaging Specialist. This role is essential to ensuring finished products are packaged accurately, safely, and prepared for shipment.

Core Responsibilities
- Prepare and package finished materials according to established procedures
- Operate banding, strapping, shrink-wrap, and stretch-wrap equipment
- Build secure pallets for domestic and export shipments, including proper dunnage
- Verify product weights and dimensions using industrial tools
- Measure materials accurately using a tape measure
- Safely operate a forklift to move and stage materials
- Inspect finished goods for quality, labeling, and compliance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused workspace
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of manufacturing or industrial experience
- At least 2+ years of packaging and material handling experience
- Strong measuring and basic math skills
- Ability to follow detailed written instructions
- Forklift experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50–75 pounds and remain active throughout the shift
- Reliable attendance and strong commitment to safety
Safety and Compliance Requirements
- Must be clean-shaven for proper respirator fit
- Must be able to wear a respirator throughout the shift
- Must be willing to shower at the end of each shift per safety protocols
- Must pass background check and drug screening
