Meador an Openwork Company is currently engaged in a search to find a detail-oriented OHS Technician in Sulphur, LA.  In a OHS Technician job, you’ll be responsible for: 

• The Fit Testing Technician is responsible for administering respirator fit testing

• Conducting MALE drug screens daily

• The essential duties and tasks of the OHS Technician are described below. The Manager of Health Testing may assign additional duties and tasks as necessary.

• Maintain a working knowledge of respirator fit machines and perform daily maintenance and repair as required.

• Conduct periodic surveys of equipment and stations so that all safety and hygiene hazards to customers and Technicians are identified and corrected.

• Complete all of the administrative steps applicable to the equipment so that all required information is verified and properly recorded.

• Administer respirator fit tests in full compliance with CFR 1910.134 Respiratory Protection Standard.

• Maintain and develop customer relationships by responding to questions, concerns, and requests from customers with speed and professionalism.

• Thoroughly disinfect and inspect each respirator upon completion of each test.

• Ensure all customer data and paperwork is kept confidential at all times. Reporting Relationship The FIT Testing Technician reports directly to the Manager of Health Testing. 

Qualifications

• A Must be able to monitor male drug screens

• Must be able to provide scrubs (black, white, or gray only)

• Customer service skills

• Strong communication skills (both written and oral)

• Must enjoy working with the public and have a strong initiative to work independently

• Must be able to adapt to work in varied environments and learn detailed procedures

• Proven ability to work under pressure and make effective decisions

• Cross-train and assist other departments as necessary

Additional Information: 

Schedule: 6:30am to 3:30pm, M-F 

Pay Rate: $14/hr
