Mosquito & Vector Control Inspector
Location: Houston, TX (Old Spanish Trail Area)
Pay: Up to $17.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Employment Type: Temporary Assignment
Pay Frequency: Weekly Pay

Openwork is partnering with a Harris County organization to hire a Mosquito & Vector Control Inspector to support field operations. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys outdoor work, environmental field activities, and making a meaningful impact in the community.

In this role, you will help monitor and control mosquito populations by conducting field inspections, collecting samples, and supporting pest control operations throughout Harris County.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct field inspections to identify mosquito breeding sites and pest activity

• Collect and sample mosquito larvae and adult populations for monitoring and identification

• Deploy traps and record inspection data using field equipment and reporting tools

• Apply approved mosquito control treatments and monitor application rates

• Assist with nighttime ULV spray operations when required

• Maintain and inspect field vehicles and spray equipment

• Document inspection findings and support ongoing pest control efforts

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent

• At least 1 year of experience in pest control, environmental fieldwork, or related work

• Valid Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record

• Basic computer skills and data entry ability

• Ability to work outdoors in heat, humidity, and varying environments

• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical field tasks
