Material Handler

Position Overview
As a Material Handler at Openwork, you play a critical role in supporting daily warehouse and distribution operations. You will ensure the accurate movement, storage, and handling of materials—helping maintain efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving & Unloading: Safely unload inbound shipments and verify materials against packing lists or purchase orders
- Material Movement: Transport inventory to designated areas using pallet jacks or forklifts (certification preferred or provided)
- Order Picking & Packing: Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders using RF scanners or warehouse systems
- Inventory Control: Assist with cycle counts, audits, and inventory reconciliation processes
- Shipping: Label, wrap, and stage outbound shipments according to company standards
- Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
- Team Collaboration: Partner with team members and supervisors to meet productivity and accuracy goals
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous warehouse or distribution experience is a plus
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and forklifts (certification preferred or available on-site)
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with RF scanners preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts as needed
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Familiarity with barcoding and RF scanning technology
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Customer-focused mindset with a team-oriented approach
Pay & Shifts
1st Shift (Mon–Fri)
- Hours: 7:00 AM or 7:30 AM – 3:45 PM or 4:30 PM
- Pay: $15.50/hr
- Forklift Operators: $17.50/hr
2nd Shift (Sun–Thurs)
- Hours: 4:00 PM – 12:45 AM
- Pay: $16.00/hr
- Forklift Operators: $18.00/hr
