Now Hiring: Maintenance / Utility Worker
Location: Northeast Houston Area
Pay: $17.00 per hour | Weekly Pay
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Position Overview
Openwork is seeking a driven and dependable Maintenance / Utility Worker to support a fast-paced industrial facility. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment while supporting daily operations and production readiness.

Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain plant floors, work areas, and equipment
- Sanitize pallets, tools, respirators, break rooms, and locker rooms
- Remove and properly dispose of trash and debris
- Maintain indoor and outdoor work areas, including areas around plant equipment
- Operate a forklift to transport materials and waste bins
- Operate floor sweeper and assist with general labor tasks
- Follow verbal and written instructions and complete assigned tasks with sign-offs
- Support production areas through cross-training as needed
- Follow all safety guidelines, state regulations, and QMS procedures
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of industrial, janitorial, or warehouse experience
- Previous utility or sanitation experience preferred
- Forklift experience required
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Physical & Safety Requirements
- Ability to lift 50–70 lbs and remain active throughout the shift
- Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
- Must be clean-shaven and able to wear a respirator for most of the shift
- Must follow all safety protocols, including end-of-shift hygiene procedures
- Must pass background check and drug screening
