Maintenance Technician
Location: Macon, GA
Pay: Based on Experience (BOE)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM until finish
Some Saturdays Required
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to perform preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance on production equipment in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently while supporting food safety, employee safety, and product quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, scheduled, and emergency maintenance on production equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical equipment to minimize production downtime.
- Follow all GMP, sanitation, food safety, and company procedures.
- Ensure equipment is properly cleaned and sanitized before returning it to production.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Communicate equipment status and repair progress with production supervisors.
- Request parts, supplies, and technical support as needed.
- Assist with preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train and assist production employees on proper equipment operation.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment preferred.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to travel for training when required.
