Openwork is currently seeking a dedicated, skilled Maintenance Mechanic for a Direct Hire opportunity with a premier, global leader in high-precision stainless steel manufacturing at their facility in Flowery Branch, GA.
In this stable, hands-on role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing specialized industrial manufacturing equipment. You will play a vital role in supporting production efficiency while maintaining a safety-first, team-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on heavy industrial machinery, including wire drawing mills, stranders, ovens, and processing equipment.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems (including pumps, valves, cylinders, and gearboxes).
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns on the production floor to minimize downtime.
- Perform basic industrial electrical troubleshooting and read electrical/mechanical schematics.
- Inspect machinery to ensure safe, calibrated, and efficient operation according to company and OSHA standards.
- Assist with new equipment installations, facility upgrades, and structural modifications.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and technical documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of industrial maintenance or mechanical experience required. (Experience in heavy manufacturing, automotive, or steel mill environments is highly preferred).
- Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical power transmission systems.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret blueprints, mechanical schematics, and technical manuals.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work comfortably in a heavy, active manufacturing environment.
