Openwork is currently seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician for a client in Central Austin. This is a full-time position involving a range of janitorial, landscaping, and repair duties both indoors and outdoors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general janitorial duties: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, window cleaning, and trash removal

• Follow enhanced cleaning protocols, including COVID-19 sanitation procedures

• Maintain outdoor areas: leaf blowing, trimming trees and bushes, flower bed cleaning, and irrigation repairs

• Refill water jugs with ice and water

• Gather and transport soiled linens and garments to the laundry room

• Conduct general building repairs including light carpentry, masonry, painting, plumbing, and pressure washing

• Operate hand and power tools (drills, saws, etc.) safely and effectively

• Assist other departments as needed; adapt to various tasks as assigned

• Follow all management instructions and safety procedures

• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, helmets, gloves, etc.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Must be able to pass a background check

• Minimum of 1 year commercial or 2 years residential maintenance experience

• Flexible and open to shift changes

• Reliable and punctual

• Strong attention to detail

• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in both hot and cold environments for extended periods

• Must be able to regularly lift 50 pounds

• Able to stand, walk, kneel, squat, bend, stoop, push/pull, twist, reach, and climb stairs or ladders as required

• Must be able to work in humid and potentially loud conditions
