Job Title: Machine Shop Helper

Location: Houston, TX 77028

Shift: Monday–Friday | 8:00am - 5:00pm

Pay: $17/ hour

 

Are you an experienced Shop Helper looking for a stable, full-time opportunity with room to grow? We’re hiring a Shop Helper to join our client’s team. This opportunity is working in a climate controlled shop!

What You'll Be Doing:

• Building wooden palettes for finished products 
• Assist machinists as needed 
• Operate sit down forklift to move product 
• Maintain cleanliness of shop 
• Follow ISO and quality guidelines to produce products to customer specifications. 
• Wear proper PPE 
• This company handles lead material, so showering before you leave the shop is REQUIRED to ensure safety as well as periodic blood tests for lead. 

What We're Looking For:

• 1 year manufacturing experience required.
• Forklift experience a plus (certification provided on site)
• Carpentry experience a plus 
• Possess basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills (normally acquired through High School).
• Possess basic inventory skills.
• Possess knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in equipment repair and maintenance.
• Must have a general knowledge of metals and the quality and machine-ability and uses of metals, alloys, and other materials.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Capable to follow company operating procedures, safety rules, and ISO requirements.
• Ability to lift to 30 lbs.
• Able to legally work in the United States.
• Effectively communicate in English (verbally and in writing).
• Must have ability to read and follow specific directions.
