Position Summary:
Openwork is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Machine Operator to join our team in Charlotte, NC. This role specializes in operating rotary engraving and embroidery machines to produce high-quality finished products. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy, efficiency, and consistency while maintaining equipment and meeting production deadlines.
Schedule & Pay:
- Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM start time
- Must be available to work Saturdays as needed
- $16.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor rotary engraving and embroidery machines according to job specifications
- Read and interpret work orders, design files, and production instructions to ensure proper setup and execution
- Load materials, threads, and tools; adjust machine settings for optimal performance
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency
- Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on equipment
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues to minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate production records and communicate any issues to supervisors
- Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating rotary engraving and/or embroidery machines preferred (training available for the right candidate)
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, technical drawings, and design files
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Basic mechanical aptitude for machine adjustments and maintenance
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs as needed
- Manual dexterity to handle small components and tools
