Maintenance Technician

Location: Social Circle, GA

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted production. This is a hands-on role requiring mechanical and preventative maintenance skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molding machines and supporting equipment (dryers, chillers, conveyors, robots, grinders, compressors)
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
  • Respond to production downtime and equipment breakdowns in a timely manner
  • Complete PM schedules, maintenance logs, and work orders accurately
  • Assist with machine setups, changeovers, and startups as needed
  • Maintain facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, and basic building repairs
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance workspace

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or injection molding environment preferred
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical documentation
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience with plastic injection molding machines (Husky, Engel, Arburg, etc.)
  • Familiarity with automation/robots (e.g., Fanuc, Sepro, Wittmann)
  • Basic PLC troubleshooting
  • Welding or fabrication experience
  • Forklift experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in tight spaces
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on-call as needed
