Meador an Openwork Company is currently engaged in a search to find a DIRECT-HIRELogistics Specialist in the Webster area that is eager to work. This role is responsible for all shipping and logistics spending, managing every dollar, every lane, and every carrier relationship across the international supply chain. The Logistics Specialist will be the decision-maker and subject-matter expert who transforms our logistics function into a measurable competitive advantage
As a Logistics Specialist you’ll be responsible for:
Own end-to-end logistics spend across all modes (air, ocean, rail, ground), ensuring budget adherence and cost optimization.
Lead carrier sourcing and RFQ processes; negotiate and award freight rates with carriers, forwarders, and 3PLs.
Oversee global inbound/outbound shipments and customs compliance, including documentation, HTS classification, and import/export regulations.
Audit and approve freight invoices, resolve discrepancies, and recover overcharges.
Develop cost models and analyze freight data to drive performance insights, savings, and strategic decisions.
Manage carrier/3PL performance, KPIs, claims, and partnerships to ensure service, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate cross-functionally to align logistics with production schedules, mitigate risks, and provide real-time shipment visibility and updates.
What you’ll need:
4+ years of dedicated logistics and freight management experience
Experience in manufacturing industry
ERP & TMS experience
Advanced knowledge of Excel
