Our partner in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Laser Operator I to join their Operations Team. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for someone with CNC laser experience who enjoys hands-on work, precision, and a clean, organized production environment.
The Laser Operator I is responsible for the set-up, operation, and daily maintenance of a CNC fiber laser to ensure high-quality parts are produced according to customer specifications. This role works closely with the Laser Programmer and Manufacturing Supervisor to coordinate workload, maintain inventory accuracy, and support overall production flow.
Perform all start-up, shut-down, and operation of CNC fiber laser equipment
Complete daily maintenance tasks (fluid checks, cleaning moving parts, emptying bins)
Select correct programs and materials using Durma software
Maintain laser cleanliness: cleaning under the bed, slats, conveyors, and fluid levels
Notify Laser Programmer when consumables need to be ordered
Coordinate workload with Laser Programmer and Supervisor to meet deadlines
Organize parts after cutting for smooth flow into the next operation
Measure and label drops; communicate inventory updates to programmer
Use slag cleaner to maintain slats and laser bed
Pull correct grade and gauge of material for processing with accuracy
Minimum 1 year of CNC laser operation experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to use basic math and measuring tools with close tolerances
Strong organizational skills for managing material drops and workflow
Experience with ProNest or other nesting software
Familiarity with Epicor or similar ERP systems
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5am-3:30pm
Pay: $ $20-23/hr, based on experience
